Head of Operations

The Role

This is a senior role encompassing the full gamut of investment management operations and compliance. You will report to the CEO in relation to operations matters and the board for compliance matters.

In respect of operations, you will work closely with Foord’s team in South Africa regarding systems improvements and investor reporting, and with Foord’s outsourced administrators Caceis Investor Services S.A. (previously RBC Investor Services) in respect of operational and investor matters for the suite of Foord global funds.

You will be required to have, or to develop with on-the-job training, a comprehensive understanding the investment management function and the related fund administration processes, systems and internal controls.

In respect of the compliance role, you will conduct the established compliance monitoring program and monitor regulatory developments. You will provide support in transactional due diligence and participate in ad hoc projects as required. You will be the point of contact with internal and external service providers.

Your Profile

You should

• have a tertiary qualification in business, operations, fund administration or related
• suitable fund operations and administration experience
• be able to engage at a senior level with various stakeholders including regulators, external auditors, directors and investors
• be proactive, highly motivated and resourceful
• be detail oriented with good organizational and time management skills
• have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to articulate concepts/ideas clearly and concisely
• have experience evaluating operational performance and process improvements and finding creative solutions to operating constraints
• have good relationship building and collaboration skills.
